Prescribed Fire

Prescribed fire is a tool that landowners can use to control woody encroachment into the Nebraska Sandhills.  With proper planning and execution, this tool effectively reduces the spread of Eastern Red Cedar.  The Sandhills Task Force has resources available to help landowners use fire to meet their conservation goals.

If you are interested in implementing prescribed fire on your property to control Eastern Red Cedar, check out our cost-share and technical assistance programs.
