Jenna Verberg is from Rock Valley, Iowa. She is a student at Mississippi State University, where she studies Animal Science-Production Specialization and Rangeland Management. This summer, she is interning at Plum Thicket Farms near Gordon, Nebraska.
"I applied for the Sandhills Ranch Internship Program because coming from a feedlot background, I wanted to experience a ranching operation. I was able to visit the Sandhills in the past for a branding and knew I would like to come back for an internship."

What has been the favorite part of your internship?
"My favorite part has been the amount of time I got to spend on the back of a horse. I don't see that back home."
What have you grown to appreciate about the Sandhills?
"The different grasses and the diversity of plants. I didn't know it was even possible."
