Drake Treffeisen

Palmer Ranch

Drake, an Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College student, is studying Livestock Production and Agriculture Business. He comes from Lake Panasoffkee, Florida, and is spending the summer as an intern at Palmer Ranch with Jay and Jaci Palmer. Drake has a background in agriculture and runs a small cow/calf operation.

Drake's decision to join the Sandhills Ranch Internship Program was driven by his eagerness to deepen his knowledge of cattle and horse management. He is particularly excited about the hands-on opportunities to learn within the beef industry and experience how a large livestock herd is maintained and managed. "I'm truly passionate about the cattle industry," Drake says. He is particularly excited about the opportunity to experience the Sandhills and develop his skills in livestock breeding programs and artificial insemination. Drake finds solace in the outdoors and water activities in his free time.

Upon completing his internship, Drake will return to school with a clear goal in mind: to earn his degree in Livestock Production and Ag Business. His ambition is to work as a cattle consultant and establish a beef cattle herd that can support him and his future family. This vision highlights his strong determination and motivation.
