Thedford
Wildfire 1999 burned an extensive area, reaching from Mullen to Thedford,
Nebraska.
Much controversy arose over what short and long term impact the fire would have on the grasslands.
The Sandhills Task Force provided $25,000 as a match with Natural Resources Conservation Service to evaluate the effect of the burn as it related to grazing practices before and after the fire.
Nebraska Environmental Trust reimbursed the Task Force for their portion of the funding.
